Ashford: 'Cost-of-living tsunami' support doesn't go far enough

The former treasury minister has been reacting to help pledged by government

A backbench MHK has described surging prices as a 'cost-of-living tsunami'.

David Ashford - who's the former treasury minister - raised concerns over support that's being set out in an extraordinary sitting of Tynwald.

Help is being pledged for the most vulnerable as well as for those not on benefits.

Capping electricity prices, further support payments and a maximum fare of £2 for bus journey's are among the plans.

But the Douglas North MHK says it doesn't go far enough:
