Woman retracts statement
A Douglas man accused of assaulting a woman has been told no further action will be taken against him.
Twenty-five-year-old Jakub Tomasz Lukasik of Princes Avenue appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
Prosecution advocate Rachel Braidwood told the hearing the woman who’d made the complaint had since retracted her statement and it was no longer in the public interest to proceed with the case.
Mrs Hughes marked the charge as withdrawn.
