MHKs hear from oncologist and palliative care professor
An oncologist who's been giving evidence to the House of Keys believes more safeguards are needed in the Island's Assisted Dying Bill.
Dr David Randall took questions from MHKs at this week's sitting, as members continue to consider amendments to Dr Alex Allinson's proposals.
Dr Randall wants to ensure vulnerable individuals have the right protections:
Meanwhile, a professor in palliative care believes the Bill is not workable in its current form.
In her evidence, Baroness Finlay expressed concern over how patients are assessed and the need for safeguards to protect against coercion.
She told Manx Radio she believes changes to the legislation are still needed:
