
Tax information on Manx residents offered to foreign authorities is covered by a strict confidentiality agreement.
That re assurance from the Treasury minister Eddie Teare during Keys questions this morning (10 Dec).
Mr Teare said tax authorities have agreed limits on the use and disclosure of financial details shared under recent tax infomation exchange agreements.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran said he was concerned the information could be used for political ends.
That, said the minister, was a legitimate concern - but Mr Teare said he had confidence in protections already in place:
