Nobody will go without benefits when existing cards expire
The Social Security Division has given an assurance that nobody will go without benefits after the existing MiCards cease to function on New Year's Eve.
Current card users who've been unable to make contact with the division - or who have a bank account but haven't provided the appropriate details will - from the start of the New Year - be paid by Government cheque sent to their home address.
Meanwhile a dedicated session to support and advise remaining MiCard users who don't hold a bank account, or have previously had difficulty opening one, will take place at Markwell House on Wednesday 10 December between 9.30am and 12.30pm to help those with concerns navigate the transition process.
