Post to be re-advertised
Candidates who put their names forward to be the Island's first auditor general 'didn't have enough experience'.
The role was created by Tynwald to make sure government spending was value for money.
A vacancy was advertised earlier this year, with a view to having the person in post by the autumn.
But according to Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson, none were qualified enough to 'break in the new role'.
He says the post will be re-advertised as soon as possible:
