Monthly stats revealed by Ronaldsway Met Office
August was warmer, drier and sunnier than normal.
The monthly statistics from Ronaldsway Met Office show an average daytime temperature of 19.9 celsius - that's 1.8 degrees warmer than usual.
The sunshine total of 235.9 hours was considerably above average.
August continued the theme this year of lower than average rainfall.
The figure of 54.7 millimetres was only 80 per cent of the long term average. So far, in 2022, only February and May have recorded above average rainfall.
The deficit this year stands at 140 millimetres or five and a half inches.
The day of the Royal Manx Agricultural Show was the hottest August day on record at 27.9 celsius - thunder storms on the 15th lasted several hours and caused damage to properties.
