36-year-old overtook unmarked police car
A Ballasalla man who was caught speeding while 'taking dinner home' has been fined £250.
William Douglas Duggan, of Grenaby Road, was spotted doing 70mph in a 50mph zone on Richmond Hill, at 7.27pm, on 21 July.
He overtook an unmarked police car which was travelling at 50mph.
The 36-year-old was stopped by police near the Fairy Bridge after reaching 90mph 'for a brief second'.
At Douglas Courthouse Duggan was also handed five penalty points and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £50.
Magistrates told him they hoped it was a "one-off mistake".
