Other motorist suffered dislocation to ankle
A Ballasalla man has been banned from the road for 12 months after causing another motorist serious bodily harm after pulling out in front of him.
Jeffrey Fargher, of Douglas Road, also suffered a ‘significant’ head injury following the crash on 9 February.
The 38-year-old’s van hit an oncoming car on Orrisdale Road - the driver suffered a fracture dislocation to his ankle and a laceration to his knee.

During sentencing Fargher’s advocate addressed the head injury his client sustained telling the court: “Close family members would say his character has altered since the crash.”
Fining Fargher £1,200, and ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £50, High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said: “This was a momentary lapse of concentration at a time when the sun was setting.
“You should perhaps take more care in those circumstances.”
Fargher will remain disqualified from driving until he’s taken and passed an extended driving test.
