Gov't to 'phase out' funding
Funding of TV Licences by the Manx government will be 'phased out' over the next three years as the BBC commits to paying the full amount by 2020-21.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle announced the news this week.
He said licences are once again free of charge to eligible pensioners, and will be automatically issued by the broadcaster instead of Treasury.
Government has dropped its rebate scheme, which was introduced in 2015.
The Chief Minister says it was important to ensure the Island is on the same basis as the UK and to honour a commitment made in the Programme for Government:
