Local groups to push government for manadatory charge
The founder of Beach Buddies is echoing calls for the Isle of Man to introduce a plastic bag tax.
Over the weekend, it was announced England has seen an 85% fall in the number of bags used since the charge's introduction in October last year.
Isle of Man Friends of the Earth's Cat Turner has said the organisation, along with the likes of Zero Waste Mann, will be pushing the new government to work on legislation post-election.
Beach Buddies' Bill Dale hopes for change, too, but he says previous efforts have been met with an unenthusiastic response from many of the stores:
