South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft failed in her bid to get Tynwald to signal its disapproval of the actions of the Council of Ministers with regard to the Sefton deal.
She had tabled a motion asking that the court does not approve of the actions of COMIN in respects of the loans to the Sefton Group and the purchase of the Middlemarch site from the Sefton Group.
She gave a lengthy speech to the court outlining her concerns and giving detailed historical research on the company's past share dealings.
However after several hours of debate, the court failed to support her motion with 7 votes for and 15 against in the Keys and just 1 for and 5 against in the Legislative Council.
