A TT sidecar competitor died from injuries sustained in a crash at Ballaspur, an inquest has heard.
The inquiry into the death of 58-year-old Ian Bell, of Bedlington, Northumberland, has been opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse this afternoon.
Mr Bell crashed while competing in the Sure Sidecar 2 race on Friday, June 10, Senior Race Day.
The cause of death was given as multiple injuries to the head, neck and body.
Meanwhile, a TT competitor who crashed in the Senior died from multiple injuries to his head and body, an inquest has heard.
Thirty-two-year-old Andrew Soar, an IT technician from Loughborough, Leicestershire, crashed at Keppel Gate during the final race of TT 2016 on Friday, June 10.
In both instances Coroner of Inquests John Needham adjourned proceedings to a date to be fixed.
