Follows a technical issue on board
This afternoon's return sailing from Heysham has been delayed by an hour after the Ben-my-Chree experienced a technical issue earlier (Monday 30 September).
It's been reported that a seal had blown in one of the engines, causing an air leak and leading to a delay in this morning's departure.
Crews have since repaired the fault.
This afternoon's 2.15pm sailing will now depart at 3.15pm, with passengers asked to check in no later than 2.30pm.
The Steam Packet Company has thanked its engineering team for fixing the issue quickly and the crews for working 'incredibly hard' to ensure sailings resumed as close to schedule as possible.
