Free school meal voucher scheme extended for Xmas holidays
A review of the Island's benefits system - and not just free school meals - will be key to helping families in future.
That's according to Education Minister, Julie Edge after a voucher scheme to help children receiving free school meals was extended to cover the Christmas holidays:
Tynwald this week approved a motion to make the initiative available between 20 December and 3 January, 2022.
The scheme provides grants in the form of vouchers for those registered for free school meals.
Vouchers can then be exchanged for groceries at certain stores.
