Replacement for Liverpool Care Pathway
Hospice Isle of Man says its end-of-life care is tailor-made for patients and is a big improvement on the Liverpool Care Pathway.
The pathway set out how dying patients should be treated, but was dropped two years ago, amid claims it had become little more than a check-list.
UK health chiefs have just put their alternative to the Liverpool pathway out to consultation.
In the Isle of Man a set of guidelines to replace the system are well established.
Hospice chief executive Margaret Simpson says medical staff use the guideliens to ensure any treatments or interventions are in a patient's best interests.
She says that doesn't make the system any less efficient:
