Commissioners to invest in public amenities
Marown Commissioners have announced one of the biggest percentage increases in the current round of local authority rate setting.
Residents in the area will see a 9.33% jump from April.
It means the rate will rise from £1.50 to £1.64 in the pound.
The commissioners say the reasons behind the increase include a significant rise in waste disposal costs, the recent introduction of the Equality Act and a decision to invest in new and replacement public amenities in the parish.
