Process could be reformed
An MHK is aiming to simplify the way people are elected to the Legislative Council.
North Douglas member David Ashford is taking a bill, which passed its first reading this week, through the House of Keys.
If it succeeds, the process of electing MLCs could be reformed without the need to redraft legislation.
At present, a candidate must receive a minimum of 13 out of 24 votes to be elected to the upper house.
Mr Ashford explained to James Davis new, yet to be defined proposals, will shortly be debated.
