Repeat offender jailed by Deputy High Bailiff
A Douglas man who set fire to a rubbish bin in a lane in the town has been given half a year in prison.
Fifty-five-year-old Graham Robert Albert Johnson, formerly of Loch promenade, also admitted obstructing police.
The court heard he'd burnt the bin recklessly rather than intentionally, after throwing a piece of burning paper in he'd wanted to get rid of.
While in custody, he had prevented police from swabbing his hands.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes sentenced Johnson to a total of 26 weeks in prison, as he set fire to the bin while he was still serving a sentence for another arson offence.
Johnson's advocate says his client appreciates he has issues, and wants helps from the mental health services.
