Developers talking to officials
A new development on the site of the old marine laboratory in Port Erin will include a museum-style area in recognition of the area's ecological importance.
The former government research centre was partially destroyed by a fire two years ago.
Developers have touted plans for a new facility incorporating apartments, shops, and bars alongside a historical site.
But they will not reveal any more at this stage.
Delgatie Ltd is currently in talks with planning officials as it prepares blueprints for the site.
