Patricia Hillas paid tribute to the head of the Catholic church following his death on Monday
The Bishop of Sodor and Man has paid tribute to Pope Francis following his death on Easter Monday.
Patricia Hillas says the Diocese's prayers are with their Catholic brothers and sisters following the Pontiff's passing.
Pope Francis's death came less than 24 hours after he took part in the Easter Sunday ceremony at the Vatican.
Bishop Tricia said in a statement: "Our prayers are with our Catholic brothers and sister today. We join in giving heartfelt thanks for the life, ministry and devotion of Pope Francis and commend him to the love of God whom he has served so faithfully.
"That the Holy Father was able share in the celebrations of Easter is a great mercy and we trust that that he will in Jesus Christ rise in glory."
