The Island's bishop is inviting the Manx community to join him in Peel cathedral this evening, for prayers and reflection on the crisis in Syria and Iraq (Fri 5 Sept).
Bishop Robert Paterson issued a prayer call earlier this week, after a second US journalist was killed by Islamic State militants.
Bishop Robert says the persecution of slaughter of tens of thousands of victims, including many Christians, amounts to a medieval war in the 21st century.
He says believers of all faiths can do something positive, together, to mark their hopes for an end to the current crisis:
Bishop Robert will be in the cathedral in Peel from 7-8pm this evening.
