Manchester atrocity 'deeply shocking'
The Island's next bishop has described the terror attack in Manchester as 'an offence against humanity'.
The Venerable Peter Eagles, currently Archdeacon for the British Army, will become Bishop of Sodor and Mann in the autumn.
He said the planting of a bomb in a venue packed with young people was 'abominable beyond words'.
People of faith he said, would pray for the bereaved, the injured, and those who lost their lives - while making a commitment to help others less fortunate than ourselves, is another positive response.
The Bishop-designate admits the proximity of Manchester to the Island makes the atrocity all the more shocking:
