A member of the Manx Labour Party says links between a former chief minister, a property developer and a blind trust which backed a failed House of Keys bid were not 'healthy' for democracy in the Isle of Man.
South Douglas MHK David Cretney spoke to Manx Radio in the wake of yesterday's Douglas East by-election fraud trial verdict.
Twenty-five-year-old Kerry Rothwell and 40-year-old Gail Corrin, both from Douglas, were convicted of dishonestly obtaining proxy votes in the 2010 Douglas East by-election.
They both worked on Kevin Woodford's campaign, as did Charles 'Buster' Lewin, who pleaded guilty to three counts of election fraud.
Mr Cretney says revelations from the trial, which linked both Donald Gelling and Dandara to the blind trust set up to back Mr Woodford's ultimately unsuccessful bid, were not good:
