Organisation tabled to fill gap in care

A new group for people suffering a range of blood cancers is to be launched in the Isle of Man this week.

Until now, there hasn't been a dedicated network for those with Lymphoma, Myeloma and Leukaemia - conditions which affect 19,000 people across the UK and are the fifth most common type of cancer.

Organisers are inviting sufferers, their family and friends to the launch on Wednesday, 19 April at the home of Manx Cancer Help, the Lisa Lowe Centre in Cronkbourne.

It's taking place at 5pm, and all are welcome.

Quarterly meetings are planned, with a mix of talks and presentations in the pipeline.

Organiser Karen Bonell from the Lymphoma Association says patients will have an opportunity to meet others going through a similar experience.
