There'll be a new face in an ancient ceremonial role at this year's Tynwald Day celebrations.
Robert Carswell will perform the dues of Yn Lhahider - which means the reader - for the first time on Friday (July 5).
He takes over from Dr Brian Stowell who steps down after carrying out the role since 2001.
Yn Lhahider repeats formal public declarations at the outdoor sitting of parliament, in Manx, following a centuries-old tradition.
President of Tynwald Clare Christian has welcomed Mr Carswell to a role she describes as 'central to reaffirming the Manx identity of the formal proceedings of our national day'.
Madam President has describes Bob Carswell and Brian Stowell, both Manx language broadcasters on Manx Radio, as scholars.
She said they had made lasting contributions in promoting Manx language and culture to a wider audience.
