Two men reportedly visiting homes in Peel and Douglas
Manx Gas says it's had reports of bogus meter readers calling at properties in Douglas and Peel.
Two men – who reportedly have strong eastern European accents and who are wearing navy blue clothing - are knocking on doors and handing over fake meter reading cards.
Manx Gas says it's informed the police but is urging people to contact the company if they have concerns about the status of the person calling at their home.
All official meter readers carry branded photographic identity cards which should be clearly displayed – people are being advised to check those before allowing entry.
Anyone with concerns can contact Manx Gas on 644444.
