'Ask for Ani' codewood scheme discreet approach to help victims
Boots in Douglas is taking part in a UK-wide domestic abuse support initiative.
The 'Ask for Ani' codeword scheme has been setup between the UK government and independent pharmacies, as well as Boots.
From today, those at risk or suffering from abuse will be able to go in store and 'ask for Ani', whereby a trained pharmacy worker can offer a private consultation and give advice.
It's hoped the discreet approach will make support more accessible to more people, as lockdown can worsen domestic abuse situations.
