Bosnian veteran to address Island audience
Today (Monday) marks the start of Vision Awareness Week 2015, a seven-day event organised by the Manx Blind Welfare Society.
The week will include fundraising, a guided walk and a visit from Billy Baxter on behalf of Blind Veterans UK.
Billy, who lost his sight as a soldier in Bosnia in 1997, went on to break the world blind land speed record in 2004, and subsequently appeared on the BBC programme Top Gear.
His visit will consist of presentations to local schools and organisations, as well as a blind archery demonstration.
Speaking to Manx Radio, Billy gave some words of enlightenment to those without eyesight:
