Plans to set up a niche Island distillery producing Manx gin, vodka and whisky have been unveiled.
The venture Seven Kingdoms Distillery is the brainchild of entrepreneur Andrew Mackenzie, a former finance sector worker.
He wants to create artisan spirits which can compete with luxury grade liquor from other boutique operations worldwide.
He's currently applying for a distiller's licence and is in talks with Customs and Excise over duty collection.
Two specialist stills have been ordered and plans drawn-up to convert a former industrial unit in Douglas into a distillery.
Andrew says he plans to offer tours and tasting - and would teach students the science of distilling with a strong message about responsible drinking.
