First medal for boxing at games level
A young Manx boxer says he’s delighted to be back on the Isle of Man after making history in his sport.
18 year old Matthew Rennie took the silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa, narrowly missing out on gold.
It’s the first time the Isle of Man has ever won a medal in boxing at the level.
Matthew arrived back to a huge crowd of family, friends and wellwishers at Ronaldsway Airport yesterday evening – and was taken aback by his rapturous welcome:
