The one-way system will stay in place
Braddan Bridge will not close this weekend, the Department of Infrastructure has confirmed.
The one-way system will remain in place, running along the section of Peel Road, past Douglas Rugby Club.
For those leaving Douglas, diversion signs are in place.
Major resurfacing work is being carried out, and workers had planned to lay asphalt, but poor road surface conditions could ‘risk early failure’ of the new surface.
Heavy rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday (20 and 21 January), which the department says is, again, not suitable for laying asphalt.
Work is currently on hold until the start of next week.
