Chairman urges planners to respect parish boundaries
Braddan Commissioners have called for planners to respect its boundaries and ensure the parish is kept separate from Douglas.
The local authority is concerned its being asked to take on the 'national need' for housing, rather than satisfying local demand, and is that green space between it and the capital will start ot disappear.
It comes after the government published the latest draft of the 'Eastern Area Plan' which zones a number of large sites in Braddan for future development.
Planners are now inviting feedback on the plan from the public, local authorities and businesses.
Chairman of the board Andrew Jessop says Braddan commissioners have yet to discuss the plans in detail, but can already see they'll cause serious disagreement with central government.
The parish of Braddan is home to the Energy from Waste Plant, Noble's Hospital, and the Isle of Man Business Park, and according to Mr Jessop has already seen its fair share of development.
