36-year-old initially denied driving without due care and attention
A Braddan man has been fined £1,300 after crashing into two parked cars.
Lee Anthony Dixon, of Strang Close, was driving his Ford Transit van without due care and attention on 11 February.
At Douglas Courthouse the 36-year-old changed his plea after previously denying the offence; he also admitted having a vehicle which was in a dangerous condition.
The court heard Dixon had originally blamed a ‘tyre blowout’ for the collision on Victoria Road in Castletown at 2.15pm.
When his vehicle was examined afterwards eight defects were identified including issues with the tyres, indicators and lights; Dixon’s advocate said these hadn’t contributed to the crash.
Ordering Dixon to pay prosecution costs, of £300, Magistrates also endorsed his driving licence with six penalty points.
