Claims they could come down further
Braddan Commissioners have reduced their rates for the coming year.
The board has decided to bring it down from £2.15 to £2.05 for 2016/17
Commissioners say the significant reduction has been made possible through sound financial management.
The ability to lower the rate has also been helped by income from a number of new properties and a reduction in administration costs.
Waste disposal and recycling have not increased for the next year and chairman Andrew Jessopp said that with greater participation in kerbside recycling, there would be further opportunities to reduce the rate in coming years.
