Howard Quayle makes announcement at Active Travel event
The chief minister has declared a climate change emergency on the Isle of Man:
It follows a further announcement that government will bring forward a climate change bill in Tynwald within the next year.
Howard Quayle spoke at an event explaining how government intends to encourage more people to walk and cycle.
It was about the Active Travel Scheme at Noa Bakehouse today.
Mr Quayle spoke to the audience there about his renewed commitment.
There have been more than 600 responses to the climate consultation so far.
The move comes as something of a u-turn, though, given Mr Quayle's comments last week, where he said "I don't think you can make any decisions until you've had the feedback from what the public want," in reference to the Climate Change Consultation which is still open for responses for another week.
