
The news that breast cancer patients at Nobles Hospital are needing to have their treatment reviewed was questioned at a meeting of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee this morning.
Chaired by Brenda Cannell MHK, the committee is one of three Standing Committees of Tynwald which were established in 2011 and have a wide scrutiny remit.
During this morning's meeting Mrs Cannell expressed her concern to Health Minister David Anderson and Chief Executive of the Department David Killip that some patients could have been receiving the wrong treatment for their cancer.
Mr Anderson says so far 22 people have been contacted to discuss their ongoing treatment. The review is continuing and may look back two years or more so more people could be identified.
