Campaigners for a dedicated breast care unit at Noble's hospital are celebrating after achieving their target of raising £1.5 million.
The appeal was launched in November 2013, with breast surgeon Millie Bello at the helm.
A non-stop round of fund-raising has been under way ever since organised by the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, many of whose members are former or current patients.
Events have ranged from glittering balls to sponsored walks, the campaign winning wide support among Island residents and local businesses.
The target was reached last night (5 May) thanks to a private donation.
The unit, which will house dedicated facilities for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients, is built and water-tight.
Group chairman Julie Stokes says fund-raising will continue, to buy the best equipment available for Island patients.
The unit is due to open in early 2016.
