Around 100 attend local authority meeting
Almost a hundred parishioners gathered in Bride last night (3 Oct) to make their views known on plans to develop Glen Truan, just days before the objection deadline closes.
A 'residents only' meeting organised by the local authority was held in the parish Church Hall, with John Morphet, the man planning to build on the disused golf course, there to make his case and answer queries.
His company, Pure Leisure Group, wants to build a new clubhouse, spa, restaurant and fifty-five residential and holiday homes at the site.
Many raised concerns about the impact this would have on the environment, traffic levels, and the nature of the village.
Meanwhile Mr Morphet said he was glad he could address parishioners, as some may not have been given the right facts.
The commissioners have pledged to bring forward the views of Bride residents to the planning office in the wake of the meeting
Any objections or comments on the development must be lodged before Friday's deadline (Oct 6).
