Suspended sentence for drunk driver
A Bride man has avoided a jail term after being caught almost three times over the drink-drive limit.
Forty-five-year-old Stephen Patrick Rego of Lhen Road pleaded guilty to committing the offence on July 1 this year.
The court heard how Rego, who has no previous convictions, was unsteady on his feet when getting out of the car at the Shoprite car park on Bowring Road, Ramsey.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes handed him an eight-week prison sentence suspended for two years.
He was also given a £1,000 fine, ordered to pay £125 in costs and banned from driving for five years.
