1869 bridge to be replaced
The Glen Helen stretch of the road which runs from Ballig Bridge to Kirk Michael will be shut for a few hours today (Monday) and on Thursday.
It’s so a Girdwood Bridge, on the St John’s side of Glen Helen, can be replaced.
It was originally built in 1869 to form access to a slate quarry.
Infrastructure chiefs say it will be closed between 10am and 4pm on both days.
The route will be open as normal tomorrow and on Wednesday.
