Year at University of Idaho
Port St. Mary student Bronte Wright has won a year-long scholarship to study in the United States from August.
The 21-year-old former Castle Rushen High School pupil is studying for a BA Honours in history at the University of Durham.
Bronte is hoping to study international relations during her terms at the University of Idaho.
The scholarship was begun by Ella Olesen, who was a registrar at the American educational facility - she died in 1985.
Her mother was Margaret Teare, who was born in Ballaugh and emigrated to America in 1890.
The scholarship has been running since 1971.
