Volunteers trash vandals' work
An operation to retrieve a Beach Buddies Big Beach Bin which vandals had thrown into Sulby river has been a success.
Four members of Ramsey Coastguard heard the plea for volunteers on Manx Radio and offered their services to help retrieve the charity's bin which was virtually submerged in the river.
It was then manhandled by a team of volunteers back to its proper place at the Poyll Doohey Whitebridge car park where it was chained and padlocked to try and prevent a similar incident happening again.
Buddies organiser Bill Dale says he doesn't think the charity would have been able to retrieve the bin without the coastguard's assistance - and has thanked all those who gave up their time to help out.
