£16 million 'uplift' for next financial year
A funding gap within health and care services on the Isle of Man is the 'most significant area of challenge' for the government.
£8.25 million has been allocated in 'growth funding' to try and solve the problem – that money is coming from income generated by the Manx National Insurance Fund.
Calculations show £105 million of cumulative funding will be required over five years.
This year £16.68 million has been allocated as a 'total uplift' for new services and growth funding.
Money will be spent on developing the 111 service and supporting a Long Covid/ME service, palliative care and the air ambulance service.
More than £5 million has also been allocated for a contingency fund to alleviate potential 'cost pressures' in the next financial year.
