Ashford takes financial plan to Tynwald
Treasury Minister David Ashford has begun laying out the Budget for the next financial year.
He's delivering his first Budget speech to Tynwald – the first of the new administration and his first as minister in charge of the Island's finances.
Describing it as the 'first step' of a new medium term plan he said the Island must have 'clear sight' in how spending is structured.
Citing the pandemic as 'unprecedented' in terms of its cost to the Island – in both social and economic terms - Mr Ashford told the court the Island does have a 'firm financial footing'.
