Treasury Minister wants to see financial incentives and disincentives to tackle run-down properties
Dilapidated buildings are disrespectful to neighbours and are causing a real issue for some on the Isle of Man.
That's the view of Treasury Minister Alex Allinson, who's committed to bring new laws to Tynwald later this year to tackle the number of run-down empty properties on the Island.
Dr Allinson is keen to see financial incentives and disincentives to get properties that have fallen into a state of disrepair back into use.
He says such buildings are creating problems for property owners nearby:

Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
Charges now in place for those sending parcels to the EU
