New rural serviced to be trialled
The Island's bus service needs to be more community focused.
That admission from the politician in charge of public transport.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer today told the House of Keys the service needed to be more inclusive.
He announced a community bus linking Bride and Andreas would be rolled out on a trial basis next spring.
He also said Island-wide bus routes were fine-tuned annually to try and meet demand.
However, Mr Harmer told Onchan MHK Rob Callister while there were limited services in some rural areas, he could not justify an increase on routes used by only a handful of passengers:
