
The driver of the bus involved in Saturday's road crash in which a young girl lost her life, has been praised for his swift action to protect his passengers at the scene.
Ten year old Alexis French died in hospital after the car she travelling in with her family hit a bus at Ballakaighan Corner.
Her father continues to fight for his life at Walton Hospital in Merseyside, while her brother and mother are still being treated for their injuries.
Chief executive of the Leisure department which runs Bus Vannin Colin Kniveton has praised the driver for taking passengers to safety as emergency services descended on the scene.
Mr Kniveton says the driver remained calm but is still deeply shocked by the tragedy:
