The Leisure Minister insists bus drivers are not being targeted in the bid to cut costs.
One hundred drivers were last weekend served their notice by management – the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure – after failing to agree to new terms and conditions which would lead to a pay cut.
Although talks between government and the union to try and resolve the issue will resume today (Friday), Graham Cregeen says the position has not changed.
And he says similar savings have already been made in other areas of the department.
