Brewery boss hopeful of compromise
The Bushy's TT trademark doesn't "tread on the toes of the Department of Economic Development in any way", according to the brewery's boss.
Martin Brunnschweiler insists the business has a stand-alone brand and there's no need for legal action, adding that the level of public support is "encouraging".
He received a letter from the DED saying Bushy's had until the end of next month to agree to stop using it, or the department's external legal team would be instructed to sue.
The DED has received widespread criticism on social media, with many people expressing their dismay and even anger at the government's conduct.
Mr Brunnschweiler has spoken to the DED's member with responsibility for motorsport Rob Callister this morning - he's hoping a compromise will be found soon:
